Krystian Truth Czaplicki
b. 1984 in Wrocław, lives and works in Wrocław, PL
So far, Krystian Truth Czaplicki has mainly created site specific ‘sculptural interventions’ in public spaces. Presently his works include mostly everyday life objects as well as articles evoking high-tech connotations, pedantic cleanliness, or high adrenaline or testosterone levels. Some of the works look like hospital equipment; they are white, made of metal, cold, sterile. They belong to an ordered, disciplined and distanced reality. However, they are ‘warmed up’ by infantile or crude decorations which testify to the feelings of anxiety; lack of security, acceptance, fulfillment; hidden desires; sensitivity; repressed aggression. Their titles refer to everyday life which is charged with extreme emotions and cool intellectual scheming at the same time.
